SHEET RULES FOR BEST RESULTS

SPRITE SHEET RULES — for clean cutting

1. Transparent background (PNG alpha) or one flat color — no gradients/textures behind sprites.
   The background color must be UNIQUE — a color that appears nowhere in the sprites — so it can be keyed out cleanly.
2. One animation per row, frames left to right in play order.
3. Fixed cell size (e.g. 64x64), identical for every frame — then use Uniform-grid mode.
4. Consistent gaps: a few px of empty margin between frames and rows so bands separate.
5. No labels or titles baked into the sheet — they get detected as frames. Keep names in the atlas.
6. Effects stay inside the cell: muzzle flashes, beams, glows must not cross into the next frame.
7. Anchor sprites consistently (same pivot, usually feet-center) so playback doesn't jitter.
8. Trim tightly with 1-2px breathing room; power-of-two cells (16/32/64/128) are GPU-friendly.

Follow 1-4 and you can skip auto-detect and use Uniform grid.
